Child Safety Standards
Drdesh (the app and service published on the App Store and Google Play as "Drdesh" by the Drdesh operator) is a private, end-to-end encrypted messenger. Privacy is the product — and it is never a shield for harming children. These standards describe what is forbidden, how to report it from inside the app or by e-mail, what we do when a report reaches us, and whom to contact.
1. What is forbidden
Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind is prohibited on Drdesh, whatever the encryption status of the conversation. That includes, without limitation:
- creating, sharing, requesting, or storing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — sexual content involving anyone under 18, including drawn, generated, or edited imagery;
- grooming: contacting a minor to build a relationship for sexual purposes, or persuading a minor to produce sexual content;
- sextortion: threatening a minor with the release of intimate content;
- sexualising minors in text, group names, profile photos, or usernames;
- arranging or advertising in-person sexual contact with a minor;
- trafficking, or offering minors for any of the above.
Drdesh is for people 13 and older (or the higher minimum age where you live; see the Terms of Service). Accounts that belong to younger children are deleted when we learn of them.
2. How to report
- In the app — open the chat, group, or member, choose Report, and pick Child safety. Your phone forwards the last few messages of that conversation to us as evidence; you can also block the person or leave the group in the same step. The reported party is not told.
- By e-mail — safety@drdesh.app. Include the @username or group name and what you saw; do not send us the material itself.
- In an emergency — if a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police first.
3. What we do
Drdesh cannot read conversations: messages are end-to-end encrypted and the server keeps no history. What we act on is what a participant forwards to us, together with the account metadata we hold (see the Privacy Policy). When a child-safety report reaches us:
- a human reviews it within 24 hours of filing — such reports are placed first in our queue and monitored;
- accounts involved in CSAE are banned and deleted; groups that exist for it are removed for every member; content we host (profile photos, group names and photos) that violates these standards is removed;
- the report and its evidence are preserved for the investigation and never used for anything else;
- apparent child sexual abuse material is referred to the authorities the law requires — for a United States operator, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline; elsewhere, the competent national hotline or police unit — and we cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement;
- we comply with applicable child-safety laws in the regions where Drdesh is available and update these standards when they change.
4. What we do not do
We do not scan your messages or media, on your phone or on our servers, and we cannot: there is nothing readable to scan. Reports come from people, and every report is reviewed by a person. We do not sell or share data with anyone for any purpose, and a child-safety referral contains only what the law requires.
